St Joseph’s Health Care London
St Joseph’s Names 2011-2012 Community Partner Of The Year

For their unwavering partnership in care, the London-Middlesex branch of the Canadian Mental Health Association (CMHA) received St. Joseph Health Care London’s 2011-2012 Annual Community Partner of Distinction award.

“The relationship with CMHA has been steadfast and grows stronger, particularly as the mental health system continues to undergo long-awaited, yet complex change,” says Dr. Gillian Kernaghan, St. Joseph’s president and CEO. This organization deserves recognition for its relationships, not only with St. Joseph’s but within this region’s mental health care networks.”

The Community Partner of Distinction award is one in the series of St. Joseph’s President’s Awards presented each year.  The award recognizes partnership and collaboration - essential requirements of health care delivery and community service.

CMHA executive director Michael Petrenko, who accepted the award, says, “We have a tremendous relationship with St. Joseph’s and come together with a common mission of supporting those who need our care.”  In particular he drew attention to the power of the annual event the CMHA and the St. Joseph’s Health Care Foundation collaborate on—the Breakfast of Champions—which draws 1,000 people together to focus on mental health and mental illness.
