Health Unit Seeking Information Regarding Cat Bite in Ripley

The Grey Bruce Health Unit is seeking assistance from the public in finding the owner of a cat involved in a biting incident that occurred in Ripley.

On Tuesday, September 11, 2012, a child playing in her backyard on William Street in Ripley was bitten by a cat she attempted to pet. The cat is described as black and wearing a red harness.

Staff of the Grey Bruce Health Unit need to confirm that the cat is not infectious with rabies. By verifying the health of the cat, the victim can avoid receiving the post-exposure rabies treatment.
