David Butler-Jones Speaks at 78th Canadian Institute of Public Health Inspectors (CIPHI) National Conference
The “One Health” concept was the message from keynote speaker, David Butler-Jones, Chief Public Health Officer, opening the 78th Canadian Institute of Public Health Inspectors (CIPHI) national conference. “We need to re-discover the strong link between public’s health and the community. It is seeing how health is interconnected to so many influences about us.”
Butler-Jones says the story of H1N1 is what didn’t happen. He says the lessons learned from SARS and being prepared prevented what could have been a much more significant pandemic.
The conference on environmental health and infection prevention and control brings together roughly 300 health inspectors from across Canada.
