London & Middlesex County Licensed Child Care Affordability Pilot

The City of London has announced the Licensed Child Care Affordability Pilot for London and Middlesex County, aiming to improve affordability, quality, and access to licensed child care for families with children 0-4 years of age.

The one-time Pilot, running from June 1-December 31, 2018 supports both families and child care providers within the licensed centre and home-based child care system. Families that pay all, or some of their child care fees will save up to $7.00 per day, per child, 0-4 years of age, beginning now until December.

These cost savings will provide increased access to licensed child care by providing opportunities for families who may only be accessing the system on a part-time basis, as well as new families wishing to enter the system.

"This is an opportunity to address affordability and increase access to high quality licensed child care for our youngest population here in London and Middlesex County," says Lynne Livingstone, Managing Director, Neighbourhood, Children and Fire Services.

The Licensed Child Care Affordability Pilot has been made available by the Province of Ontario and the Government of Canada.
