Service Description:
|
Integrated day program for seniors, adults with varying needs and individuals with Alzheimer's Disease or other dementia
Offers therapeutic activities and caregiver relief with a focus on wellness, socialization, recreation and rehabilitation * services include blood pressure and weight monitoring and nutritious meal * transportation and foot care available for a fee Additional Services Details - Transportation- family encouraged to provided transportation to/from program * staff can help arrange transportation if needed.
- Nutrition- morning and afternoon refreshments provided * full course meal served at lunch * special dietary needs can be accommodated upon request
- Mobility Assistance- staff fully trained to provide assistance in transfers, escorting and fall prevention * whirlpool tub room and washrooms are wheelchair accessible
- Incontinence- provide support to clients with bladder incontinence * clients are ineligible if there are multiple episodes of bowel incontinence * clients are encouraged to wear briefs or pads to support bladder control * a spare change of clothing can be stored in the program
- Medication Management and Medical Care- assists clients with medications required
- Overnight Respite - once a month in Spruce Adult Day Away program * last Monday of every month * room for 2 clients * 2 Personal Support Worker staff on duty
- Expanded Hours - operates 9am-3pm * expanded hours available by special request and may involve additional cost
- Wandering/Exit Seeking - most programs accommodate a locked and secured entrance
- Specialization - an integrated program to manage clients with various physical and congnitive challenges * whirlpool bathing program available at some sites for clients and members of the community (weight restriction for tubs and lifts)
