Service Description:
|
Diabetes education, Type 1, Type 2 and at risk, taught in an outpatient setting over a four to six week period
Children, adolescents and their families receive twenty-three and a quarter hours of interdisciplinary care * follow-up is maintained at regular three to four month intervals for ongoing support and education * team members involved are nursing, dietitians, social workers, Child Life and Art Therapy, endocrinologist and psychologist by referral * fully developed insulin pump program
