Service Description: Provides public health services that promote health and prevent disease for area residents through all of life's stages * staff support and encourage people to make healthy choices, and work with the community to ensure that public health standards are being met in the areas of parental/child health, chronic disease and injury prevention, communicable diseases, sexual health, environmental health, dental health, epidemiological investigation, and practical public health research and evaluation
 
Emergency Preparedness - Coordinates community emergency response efforts on behalf of the Health Unit to assist the general public when a disaster occurs
 
Environmental Health and Chronic Disease Prevention Services - Monitors local food, water and air on a daily basis to ensure it is safe * programs and services focus on the importance of healthy active living and injury prevention
 
Family Health Services - Provides programs and services for families during all stages of life, including information and advice about family health, parenting and infant care
 
Oral Health - Administers dental coverage programs for qualifying children and youth 17 years of age and younger, and for Middlesex County Ontario Works child clients * offers no-cost direct dental treatment services to program clients at 50 King Dental Clinic * offers low-cost dental cleanings to qualifying adults and children * provides oral screenings and education to schools and community partners
 
Oral Health, Communicable Disease and Sexual Health Services - Monitors, prevents and helps stops the spread of infectious diseases like influenza, tuberculosis, salmonella, hepatitis, sexually transmitted infections and others
 
The Travel Immunization Clinic - Immunization clinic specializing in vaccinations * provides travel advice, immunizations and pre-travel medical assessments
