Ron Cameron Welcomed in New Role as Board Chair of United Way Perth-Huron
Ron Cameron, a dedicated board member of United Way Perth-Huron for the past 3 years, has been elected as Board Chair for the 2012-2013 year.
Cameron brings a vast set of skills and experiences to the table including grant writing, strategic planning, and development of governance capacity. He is currently an active volunteer and board member of Stratford and Perth County Community Foundation and past chair of both United Way Perth-Huron’s: Program Review and Allocation Committee (PRAC) and Community Impact Committee (CIC).
Executive Director Ryan Erb says, “We are excited to continue working with Ron Cameron in his new role as Board Chair. He comes with such a breadth of knowledge, and at the same time is willing to get his hands dirty.” He explains, “At United Way’s Day of Caring, Ron worked alongside a youth from PF Solutions, cleaning up the garden at the Emily Murphy Centre. When we need someone to step in and help, regardless of the task, we can always count on Ron.”
Ron describes his vision and goals as Board Chair, “I see this Board’s term as one where we ‘again move the yardsticks of UWPH,’ making continued impact upon our Community, and embodying our ‘Change Starts Here’ outlook. At the end of my term, I would be exceedingly proud if we could look back and be able to say that we made a difference, having made an impact in our Community by facilitating the development of new service programs and services; having sown the seeds for growing our financial support of Huron Agencies back to historical levels; and having furthered our potential for Community impact by growing our annual Campaign support so as to allow our Agencies the financial capability to more fully address their service mandates.”

Please join us in welcoming our new Board Members: Helga Barenberg, Meghan Doherty (youth representative), Matt Orchard, Ellen Sparling (voting youth representative), and Joan van der Meer to United Way Perth-Huron’s Board.
