CMHA Oxford Board of Directors Announces Appointment of Mike McMahon as Executive Director
The Canadian Mental Health Association (CMHA) – Oxford County Board of Directors has concluded a comprehensive recruitment process for a new Executive Director. At a special meeting held June 19, 2012, the Board ratified the employment of Mike McMahon. Mike began his new position on August 07, 2012.
Mike has experience in the public sector and demonstrates excellent leadership abilities. Mike has a track record of creating and maintaining successful partnerships and is experienced with strategic planning. Mike’s personal values are well aligned with those of CMHA Oxford.
Oxford Branch Board of Directors Chair Rosilee Peto: “Mike’s focus on the value of relationships and leadership in the context of systemic integration connected very well with the aspirations of our Board.” Peto stated also that “Mike will be able to build on our integration efforts ensuring that our Agency remains committed to the best possible outcome for clients.”
Mike was the General Manager and Chief Operating Officer at Wilfrid Laurier University Students' Union since 2003, and has led the national professional association of Student Centre management employees since 2009. Previously Mike has worked in health care serving as Administrator/General Manager for Schlegel Communities 120 bed long term care facility in Hamilton.
McMahon commented: “I am very excited to join the experienced team at CMHA – Oxford. I have a passion for service strategy, and am excited by the challenges in the health sector. Priority number one will be to meet our professional staff, our clients, and my colleagues across the southwest region.”
