World Water Day Is March 22
The Health Unit is offering extra incentive to residents who are on private wells. To celebrate World Water Day, which takes place March 22, residents are invited to drop-off a well water sample between March 19 and 23 to receive a free glass water bottle.
“It’s important to test your well water three times a year – spring, summer and fall,” explains Virginia Kelly, Public Health Inspector. “Frequent testing will keep you up-to-date on the quality of your drinking water and provide an early warning signal to potential problems.”
Private well owners in Perth County can test their well water for bacteria free of charge. Water testing kits are available at the locations listed below and at local municipal offices.
To receive a free glass water bottle, drop off your well water sample between Monday, March 19 and Friday, March 23 at:
Water samples can also be dropped off at the following locations, however, there are no free glass water bottles to pick up:

Monday to Thursday, 8:30 am - 4:30 pm, Friday 8:30 am - 12:00 Noon

Well owners who wish to have their water supply tested for fluoride, nitrates, nitrites or pesticides can do so through a private accredited laboratory for a fee.
