Service Description: Supports for older adults, adults with disabilities, and people recovering from illnesses or injury * helps people remain independent in the community for as long as possible
 
Community Dining Program - Group meals and social activities
 
Falls Prevention and Group Exercise Classes for Seniors - Group exercise and falls prevention classes for older adults and people with mobility issues * aims to improve strength and balance to prevent injury and falls
 
Fitness Programs - Exercise programs for seniors that promote wellness focusing on cardio-vascular conditioning, muscle strengthening, balance and flexibility training
 
Foot Care Clinic - Basic foot care provided by certified foot care practitioners at the St Marys Friendship Centre * foot care includes evaluation of feet condition, pedicure, and treating of basic foot conditions
 
Home Help Referral Program - Referrals to local services such as snow removal, lawn care, cleaning, and general maintenance
 
Meals on Wheels - Hot or frozen meals delivered Mon-Fri 12noon * special diet types available
 
Shopping Services - Non-emergency transportation for older adults to go shopping
 
Telephone Reassurance - Regular phone calls to check on the health and safety of older adults who live alone * checks are done by trained and screened volunteers
 
Volunteer Visiting - Regular volunteer visits to older adults and people with disabilities, who live alone * volunteers are matched one-to-one
 
Wellness Programs - Educational seminars discussing health related education topics such as healthy eating, exercise, chronic disease prevention and overall health and wellness
