Service Description: Administers most of the province's major tax statutes as well as a number of tax credit, incentive and benefit programs

Responsible for the administration of the Corporate Tax, Retail Sales Tax and Employer Health Tax, including the Race Tracks Tax Act * registers vendors to collect retail sales tax * accepts retail sales returns and remittances from registered vendors * accepts retail sales tax from taxpayers who purchase goods in a private sale or import taxable goods into Ontario

Initiates and conducts collection activity to recover tax from delinquent vendors and taxpayers * audits vendors, agents and taxpayers to ensure taxes are remitted when due * communicates to vendors, agents and taxpayers the exemptions available under the Retail Sales Tax Act * provides audit, collection, and counter services to taxpayers * accepts tax refund claims in the certain cases
