Position:  Client Services Supervisor

Region:  Elgin

Description:  The Client Services Supervisor will promote excellent client care through observation of direct client care at the service address and in accordance with all contract requirements both government and private.


  • Obtain feedback from the service purchaser, client and family
  • Assess the quality of care and provide feedback and performance improvement opportunities for community staff
  • Monitor compliance of staff to service purchaser contractual obligations, Company policy and procedures, provincial regulations and regulatory body standards
  • Tactically recruit and hire community staff

Staff Development

  • Act as a clinical resource for community staff
  • Lead regular staff meetings to foster teamwork, address work-related problems and keep staff abreast of new information related to the branch and client care provisions
  • Provide/facilitate in-service opportunities for staff to enhance or learn new knowledge and skills
  • Participate in educational programs, seminars and conferences to foster professional growth and sharing of acquired knowledge with staff
  • Co-ordinate student placements as per policy

Performance Management

  • Conduct probationary and regular performance appraisals to ensure that community staff meet or exceed quality standards of practice as specified by the Company and the appropriate regulatory body
  • Supervise all staff, focusing on core group for purposes of performance management and recognition while conducting a continuous review of staff rosters
  • Implement Continuous Quality Improvement (CQI) activities – i.e. chart audits and participate in directing the collection of client care outcome indicators

Client Assessment

  • Provide client assessments at the service address for home support and nursing services
  • Provide case management services for clients who request nursing, home support and/or rehabilitation services

Risk Management

  • Respond to complaints, compliments, and client referral discrepancies and issues and ensure effective resolution as required
  • Manage client and employee incident reports: investigation, documentation, follow-up and discipline as appropriate per policy
  • Recommend new/revised policies and procedures, as required
  • Assist all staff to work in compliance with the provisions of the Occupational Health and Safety Act
  • Report promptly employee injury and illnesses in accordance with Occupational Health and Safety Policies and procedures and WSIB/WCB requirements
  • Act as a resource for the community staff after branch hours on a basis determined by the Community Services Manager

Contract Management/Business Development

  • Collaborate with service purchasers’, and all other multidisciplinary team members as appropriate
  • Community agencies, physicians, home support providers, rehab professionals as appropriate
  • Develop yearly program goals, objectives and liaise with the manager on clinical sections of budget and Branch Strategic Plan
  • Follow up on new client referrals by providing information regarding services, policies and procedures, pricing etc.
  • Promote and market the Company’s services
  • Enhance the Company’s community profile by participating on outside committees
  • Propose innovative client care services that respond to the needs of the community assisting in the development of those services
  • Contribute information for service delivery/clinical sections of Request for Proposal (RFP) as requested
  • Other duties as assigned


  • Demonstrated ability to effectively prioritize activities including supporting clients and building team morale
  • An energetic and enthusiastic attitude and a willingness to work in a dynamic, fast-paced environment
  • Proven strong communication and interpersonal skills with both internal team members and external business stakeholders;
  • Must be Graduated from a recognized program by the College of Physiotherapists of Ontario, or the College of Occupational Therapists of Ontario, or College of Audiologists and Speech Language Pathologists of Ontario, or College of Social Workers and Social Service Workers of Ontario, or College of Dieticians of Ontario and have current registration in good standing with a regulated health profession college
  • Must have on year of supervisor experience
