South East Grey Community Health Centre

The South East Grey Community Health Centre is a multi-disciplinary primary care centre providing primary care and community development services to the residents of West Grey County and the Municipalities of Grey Highlands, Southgate and Chatsworth.

Position:  Physician

Region:  Grey and Bruce

Description:  We are currently seeking a full-time permanent Physician (37.5 hours per week), who as a valuable member of the Community Health Centre team, will provide primary care to clients and their families within a care model which emphasizes health promotion/education and empowerment.

The South East Grey CHC received the highest patient satisfaction rating of all of the South West LHIN CHCs - a 99% patient approval rating. Additionally, we are the most efficient CHC in Ontario on a cost per patient served basis and cost per patient visit. We currently have two physicians and nine nurse practitioners serving more than 5,500 patients on a full and part time basis.

The primary care practice offers in-house physiotherapy, social work, dietitian (nutrition counselling) services, chiropody, and a recreational therapist. Additionally, we offer health promotion and community development services through more than forty community-based programs.

The South East Grey CHC has four specialists working from our site in Markdale including a Child Psychologist, a neurologist, an internist and a psychiatrist. We work very closely with our hospital partners to ensure that patient and community needs are met.

We offer a very competitive salary that includes a base salary, plus HOOPP pension and comprehensive medical benefits. We also offer an electronic patient record system and a world class primary care facility. There are additional opportunities to work with our physician colleagues at Grey Bruce Health Services in Markdale in the ER and/ or in-patient if so desired and the FTE will be adjusted accordingly to accommodate.


  • Medical degree and family residency from a recognized university
  • Current CPSO license and CMPA registration
  • Experience in a combination of hospital and community settings and/or public health
  • Demonstrated commitment to and knowledge of community based health care
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a multidisciplinary setting
  • Ability to work effectively with marginalized and under serviced populations
