Midwives - South West

A midwife provides primary care to low-risk women throughout their pregnancy, labour and birth, including delivery of the baby, and to both mother and baby during the first six weeks following the birth. Midwives attend clients in hospitals, birthing centres or their own homes, and can admit patients to hospital. Midwives are regulated under the Regulated Health Professions Act (RHPA) and midwifery services are fully funded by the province.
