The Listowel Wingham Hospitals Alliance was formed on July 1, 2003 as a partnership between Listowel Memorial Hospital and Wingham and District Hospital. STATUS: Temporary Full-Time
START DATE: March 1, 2026 – September 30, 2027
SALARY RANGE: $42.58 - $53.23
POSITION SUMMARY:
The Registered Dietitian is responsible for the assessment and development of nutritional care plans for inpatients, providing education, and counselling to patients and their families. The Registered Dietitian supports the Nutrition and Food Services department, providing consultation on hospital menus, including therapeutic diets.
QUALIFICATIONS:
University Degree plus Designation
Member in good standing with the College of Dietitians of Ontario and membership with Dietitians of Canada
Certified Diabetes Educator (CDE) preferred
Minimum 1-year experience in diabetes education.
Experience in individual self-care of diabetes within a chronic disease self-management framework an asset

High degree of mental effort and analysis
POSITION-SPECIFIC RESPONSIBILITIES AND TASKS:
- Provide nutritional assessment/education, and counselling to meet the needs of inpatients and their families
- Evaluates, interprets, monitors and documents the nutritional status and nutritional needs of patients using established standards of care and practice guidelines
- Provides nutritional services and medical nutrition therapy in line with the patient’s goals
- Provide input into programs and policies related to nutritional services and diabetic clinics
- Complete statistic collection as required
- Provide consultation and education to the Nutrition & Food Services department on menus, supplements, diet changes, therapeutic and texture modified foods to improve health outcomes
- Maintain/improve knowledge of current best practices for patient nutritional care
- Attend team meetings
- Provide or contribute to innovations in patient programming/care/program planning
- Attend patient rounds and family meetings to contribute to improved patient care outcomes
- Perform duties in compliance with quality improvement plans and accreditation standards
- Precepts dietetic interns/students
- Active member of applicable team/unit/department meetings and huddles
HOURS OF WORK: Monday to Friday, 37.5 hours per week
Salary: $42.58 - $53.23
Terms of Employment: Temporary Full-Time
