Since 1949, TVCC has been working with children and youth to help them reach their full potential. Today, a wide range of services and supports are provided for young people with physical disabilities, communication disorders, developmental delays and autism spectrum disorders to support them in attaining the best available quality of life and health. In partnership with local and regional agencies, TVCC annually serves more than 11,000 children, youth and their families from birth to age 19 across Southwestern Ontario in over 700 locations.

Position:  Speech-Language Pathologist, Clinic

Region:  London and Middlesex

Description:  We are currently recruiting for a temporary, full time (37.5 hours per week) Speech-Language Pathologist in Clinic. The designated office for this position is London. This position is expected to start as soon as possible and end in October 2027.

Responsibilities: 

  • Provide assessment, consultation and brief treatment to children with craniofacial anomalies and other diagnoses, working within a multidisciplinary team
  • Consult with TVCC clinicians, community therapists, dentists, physicians as appropriate
  • Play an active role in the planning and delivery of Cleft Lip and Palate (CLP) and Velopharyngeal Dysfunction (VPD) Clinics including but not limited to coordination with the surgical team involved with the clinics (Plastics, ENT) and follow up treatment
  • Provide feeding assessment and consultation within the region
  • Provide brief support during prenatal, initial consultation and throughout the clients involvement with the CLP Clinic Team
  • Provide education on feeding and craniofacial care internally and to community professionals
  • Supervision of students and support personnel is required

Qualifications:

  • Registration with the College of Audiologists and Speech-Language Pathologists of Ontario
  • Experience working with paediatric clients with feeding and complex medical needs is strongly preferred
  • Strong communication skills, interpersonal skills and ability to work well within an inter-professional team;
  • Excellent organizational skills;
  • Experience working in a hospital setting is an asset
  • Computer proficiency including MS Office Suite 365 and videoconferencing software (ex. Teams)
  • Valid Ontario driver’s licence and access to a vehicle are required
  • Current certification in First Aid and CPR
  • Ability to provide services in French is considered an asset
