  • Chiropody clinics provide advanced foot care by chiropodists or podiatrists.
  • Diagnostic Imaging Clinics
  • Diagnostic imaging clinics offer such services as X-rays, ultrasound, bone mineral densitometry (BMD), mammography and magnetic resonance imaging (MRI).
  • Family Health Teams
  • Family Health Teams are a new approach to primary health care in Ontario, bringing together health care providers to work together in coordinating a patient’s care. Doctors, nurses, nurse practitioners and other health care professionals may be members of the team.
  • Foot Care Services
  • Basic foot care includes assessment of the condition of the feet, pedicures, treatment of basic foot conditions, skin care advice and sensitivity testing for diabetes. This level of care is usually provided by nurses at clinics or in the home.
  • Hospitals
  • Hospitals provide a variety of inpatient and outpatient programs and services. Many provide learning opportunities for health science students and participate in the conduct of health and medical research.
  • Medical Laboratories
  • Medical Laboratories provide blood testing, X-rays and other diagnostic services.
  • Mental Health Hospital Programs
  • Hospital programs provide support and treatment for individuals of all ages who have acute or chronic mental or emotional disturbances. Services may be provided on an inpatient or outpatient basis.
  • Pharmacies
  • Pharmacies provide drug prescription services as well as medication counselling. 24-hour pharmacies are specially indicated in the listings.
  • Rehabilitation Services - Outpatient
  • Hospitals provide an array of rehabilitation services, including following a stay in hospital. You must have a valid Health Card and a doctor's referral to be eligible.
  • Walk-in Medical Clinics and Urgent Care Centres
  • Walk-in medical clinics provide prompt medical care for people who are sick and do not have a family doctor or are unable to reach their family doctor. Generally, appointments are not needed.
  • Women's Health Care Centres
  • Women's Health Care Centres provide general health care services, specifically addressing issues of concern to women, in women-friendly environments.
