Service Description:

The Huron Perth Elder Abuse Prevention Network (HP EAPN) represents interprofessional and intersectoral partners who are dedicated to strengthening efforts that protect and support older adults at risk, families, and caregivers across Huron and Perth Counties. The network brings together diverse stakeholders to collaborate on shared priorities, explore opportunities for better service coordination, and implement a common framework for action. It also available as a reference group to the Huron, Perth and Area Ontario Health Team, ensuring that initiatives focused on older adults are strategically aligned and contribute to a more integrated system of care. Priority areas for action include:
Public Education, Advocacy and Awareness Promote awareness about elder abuse and provide information on how to access services
Practice Development for Front-Line Staff
Offer specialized training to staff from various sectors who work directly with older adults to enhance their knowledge, skills and capability to recognize and respond to elder abuse
Community Services Coordination and Collaborative Practice
Strengthen our local communities by building partnerships, promoting information sharing and integrating efforts to prevent and combat elder abuse
