Service Description: Health centre with services provided by registered nurses and other allied health care providers

Services include:

Health education - Provides variety of health education programs that focus on community needs * available for one-to-one discussions or groups

Immunization - Available by appointment or drop-in for regular immunization by Community Health Nurse * influenza clinics available

School Health Services - Community Health Nurse and Community Health Representatives make regular visits to Wiiji Nimbawiyaag Elementary School, Chippewa Day Care and Chippewa Headstart Program * health education * immunizations * pediculosis checks bi-monthly

Home Visits - Provides health information and counselling on individual or family basis

Foot Care - Physician available for foot related issues first Wednesday of the month 1-3pm * appointment required

Blood Sugar and Blood Pressure Screening Clinics - Screening of blood sugar, blood pressure and weight checks during special clinic days and drop-in

Environmental Health Program - Provides public health safety and education * monitors potential hazards through Rabies Clinics, Water Sampling, Home Assessments, Carbon Monoxide

Counselling - Provides counselling related to alcohol use, addiction, family violence, depression, grief and loss, etc. * appointment required

Non-Insured Health Benefits for Clients - Provides supplementary health benefits, including prescriptions and non-prescription drugs, medical equipment and supplies for registered Indians in Canada

Canada’s Pre-Natal Nutrition Program - Provides educational classes related to pregnancy and nutrition * prenatal classes for both mothers and fathers

Loan Cupboard Medical Supplies and Equipment - Provides a variety of medical equipment for community members to borrow including crutches, bath chairs, wheelchairs, etc.

Home and Community Care Program - Home care program * focuses in assisting community members to remain in their own homes
