Provides public health services that promote health and prevent disease for area residents through all of life's stages * staff support and encourage people to make healthy choices, and work with the community to ensure that public health standards are being met in the areas of parental/child health, chronic disease and injury prevention, communicable diseases, sexual health, environmental health, dental health, epidemiological investigation, and practical public health research and evaluation * enforces various provincial acts and regulations, such as food safety and smoking

possible referral to a dentist through our programs "Healthy Smiles
Ontario" and "CINOT (Children In Need Of Treatment)" * Treatment may
include: cleaning (dental
scaling), selective polish, fluoride treatments, dental sealants and
oral hygiene instruction
