Ingersoll Nurse Practitioner-Led Clinic

Position:  Registered Nurse

Region:  Oxford and Norfolk

Description:  The Ingersoll Nurse Practitioner-Led Clinic is recruiting permanent full-time Registered Nurses (RNs) for our Ingersoll and Tillsonburg sites. This posting is for existing vacancies.
The successful candidate will work 37.5 hours per week. The schedule includes four day shifts from 8:30am to 4pm and one Tuesday evening shift from 12pm to 7:30pm to support the clinic’s extended hours.

Responsibilities:

  • Provide telephone and in-person triage, including assessment of patient concerns, urgency, care needs, and appropriate next steps.
  • Coordinate timely access to care by arranging same-day or next-day appointments, follow-up, referrals, or escalation to urgent or emergency services when required.
  • Complete focused nursing assessments, health histories, patient education, counselling, and clinical interventions within RN scope of practice.
  • Provide nursing care, treatments, immunizations, point-of-care testing, venipuncture, and other clinical activities as authorized by clinic policies, provider orders, and approved medical directives.
  • Complete a preliminary review of incoming specialist consultation notes, including initial review of recommendations, medication list updates as appropriate, identification of required follow-up, and forwarding to the Nurse Practitioner when clinical action, clarification, or decision-making is required.
  • Support preventative care, chronic disease management, prenatal and postnatal care, well-baby and child assessments, screening, and health promotion activities, including pelvic exams and Pap tests where authorized and appropriate.
  • Maintain accurate and timely documentation in the electronic medical record.
  • Participate in chart reviews, case conferences, quality improvement initiatives, and clinic reporting as required.
  • Maintain clinical supplies, equipment, exam rooms, infection prevention and control practices, specimen handling, and general clinic safety procedures.
  • Support patient education resources, staff learning, and other clinic programs or initiatives as assigned.
  • Perform other duties within RN scope of practice and clinic needs.

Qualifications:

  • University degree or diploma in Nursing from a recognized university or college.
  • Current registration with the College of Nurses of Ontario as a Registered Nurse.
  • RN prescribing authority is preferred.
  • Three to five years of nursing experience. Experience in a primary care setting is preferred, or a combination of experience in community, hospital, or public health settings.
  • Experience in emergency care, triage, and clinical assessment.
  • Experience in program development, implementation, monitoring, and evaluation.
  • Diabetes education experience is an asset.
  • Proficiency with an electronic medical record, preferably Practice Solutions/TELUS PSS.
  • Demonstrated ability to work effectively in a team environment.
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills.
  • Excellent organizational skills.
  • Commitment to workplace wellness.
  • Ability to work extended hours one day per week, including Tuesday evenings.
  • Ability to travel as required.
  • Membership with the Registered Nurses’ Association of Ontario is preferred.
  • Current proof of professional liability insurance.
  • Current Basic Cardiac Life Support certificate.
  • Current police vulnerable sector screening check.


Salary:  $77,673 annually

Terms of Employment:  Full-time
